The Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland, Partners with the C-IDEA Association to Sign a Cooperation Agreement – AI and New Media Design Lab Officially Established.

To promote deep integration between international art and design and the AI discipline, and to build an international platform for digital design research and talent cultivation, on August 31, 2026 (local time), the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice, Poland, and the C-IDEA Association (International  Educators Association) officially held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony, announcing the official unveiling and establishment of the AI and New Media Design Lab.

Rector Handerek of the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice and Academician Xu Li of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts will serve as co-directors of the lab, marking the start of a new pattern of regular, in-depth transnational cooperation in AI innovative design, new media art, and digital creative education.

This signing is an important landmark in the cross-disciplinary integration of international art and design and AI. The newly established AI and New Media Design Lab will carry out cooperation in four main directions: building a global expert exchange network; advancing international talent incubation and artist residency programs; implementing joint research, creative production, and global exhibition projects; and hosting international academic conferences, forums, and design week activities. The lab focuses on frontier research directions such as creative applications of AI, new media art creation, digital interaction design, and intelligent visual innovation, and will continuously conduct cross-border research projects and practical exploration.
